Everton can thank skipper and centre-back Phil Jagielka for the 0-0 half-time score. He made two excellent goal-line clearances from Tiemoure Bakayoko and William in the same counter attack.
By and large Chelsea have dominated possession and attack play, with only the sporadic move forward by the home side.
Tom Davies’s speculative 25-yarder which went well wide of Thibaut Courtouis’ right post, the only attack worthy of the name.
