Ex-Bromley manager Neil Smith takes charge at Cray Wanderers
Cray Wanderers have appointed Neil Smith as their new manager.
Grant Basey, Charlton’s academy youth development phase coach, had been in interim charge after the dismissal of Danny Kedwell at the start of the year.
Former Fulham and Gillingham midfielder Smith was sacked by Bromley in March 2021.
“Neil comes with a wealth of experience in non-league football having most recently managed our landlords Bromley FC, taking them to Wembley in the process,” said Cray Wanderers in a statement on their website.
“We would like to thank Grant Basey and Gary Alexander for the excellent work that they did as interims during a very difficult period for the club and we would like to wish them all the best for the future.”
The Wands are still in relegation trouble in the Isthmian League Premier Division and lost 4-3 at home to Bowers & Pitsea on Saturday.
