Exclusive: League One side exploring loan deal for Crystal Palace defender

League One side Bristol Rovers are keen on signing Crystal Palace defender Tayo Adaramola on loan in this upcoming January window, the South London Press understands.

The Republic of Ireland U21 international is allowed to leave Selhurst Park on loan this winter after featuring on the bench in recent Premier League outings against Manchester City and Chelsea.

Left-back Adaramola, who can also be deployed as a left wing-back, made his senior Palace debut as a late substitute under Patrick Vieira in the FA Cup fourth round win over Hartlepool United in February 2022.

He followed that up by making his first start in the next round, playing 65 minutes against Stoke City.

The now 20-year-old joined Championship side Coventry City on a season-long loan at the start of the 2022-23 season but was sent back to South London after featuring just once – starting a 4-1 defeat in the EFL Cup at home to Bristol City – for Mark Robins’ side.

He spent the rest of the campaign with Palace’s U21 side before featuring on the bench in the 2-2 draw at Fulham in the penultimate Premier League game of the season.

Bristol Rovers are ninth in League One and nine points off the League One play-off spots under former Rotherham boss Matt Taylor.
