Exclusive: Midfielder extends Charlton Athletic deal
Jake Forster-Caskey has extended his Charlton contract – opting to take up a 12-month option.
The 26-year-old had signed a one-year deal before the start of the last campaign but there was a clause allowing him to trigger an extension until the summer of 2021.
And the South London Press understands that Forster-Caskey has committed his future.
The former Milton Keynes and Brighton midfielder made 12 appearances last season.
Forster-Caskey was one of Charlton’s leading players in the 2017-18 campaign – featuring 45 times as the SE7 outfit lost in the League One play-offs. A serious knee injury saw him miss nearly all of the 2018-19 season.
The former England U21 international was signed from Brighton in January 2017.
