Exclusive: Three League One clubs tracking AFC Wimbledon striker
BY EDMUND BRACK
Reading, Blackpool, Hull and League One play-off chasers Bolton Wanderers are all keeping tabs on Zach Robinson ahead of the summer transfer window.
The AFC Wimbledon forward, 20, has spent the season on loan at Dundee in the Scottish Championship.
Robinson, left, has excelled under Gary Bowyer in his first full season in senior football, bagging 12 goals and recording five assists in 34 appearances in all competitions.
The striker is fifth in the league scoring charts and pushing Dundee towards the Scottish Championship title.
He led the line under Mark Bowen for AFC Wimbledon in their bid to survive relegation from League One at the end of last season.
The forward suffered a hamstring injury in a 1-1 draw with Milton Keynes, which kept him out for the final four games.
Speaking at the time about Robinson, Bowen said: “I have been delighted with everything he has done – his application of things and the way he has taken information on.
“For a lad of such a young age and little experience, he has been a real bright spark for us.”
Robinson signed a new deal in the summer with the Dons but only has a year left on his current contract and has teams higher in the English football pyramid circulating ahead of the summer.
Dundee could also be in the running to secure Robinson’s services permanently should they win promotion to the Scottish Premiership tonight (Friday) against Queen’s Park.
