Eyenga wins London & Youth Intermediate Championship trophy

Junior Eyenga was crowned a senior champion at the London & Youth Intermediate Championships.

Eyenga, who is at Croydon Boxing Gym, has only been in the sport for two years.

He had to defeat three opponents on his way to claiming the 71kg trophy

Brixton’s former European light-welterweight champion Ted Bami is head coach of the club.

Eyenga has a 100 per cent record from his nine bouts. Bami said: “He is far from being the finished article. Junior is very disciplined and trains no less than five or six times a week.

“He always listens. He is humble, grounded and always looking to improve when asking for feedback.”
