FA Cup quarter-final draw – when it will be made, who will be drawing the balls and Millwall’s ideal opposition

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Millwall will be ball number two in tonight’s FA Cup quarter-final draw.

The Lions will discover their opposition in the last eight of the competition once this evening’s tie between Chelsea and Manchester United has been completed.

The draw will be live on BBC One with former Blues full-back Wayne Bridge and ex-Red Devils midfielder Darren Fletcher drawing out the balls.

Millwall only have one shot at an all-Championship meeting – Swansea City the only other second tier side still left in the tournament.

Lions chief Neil Harris has already said his preference is a tie at The Den – two of their three matches so far have been in SE16. And he would ideally like to be paired with fellow South London outfit Crystal Palace.

The last time the two clubs met was at The Den in April 2013 – a 0-0 draw as the Eagles grinded their way into the Championship play-offs, going on to win promotion.

The other match that campaign was a 2-2 draw. Mile Jedinak and Damien Delaney were on target for the Eagles with Liam Trotter and Mark Beevers responding to cancel out a 2-0 deficit.
