‘Fight for that jersey’ – Neil Harris quizzed on Millwall goalkeeper battle between Jensen and Roberts

Neil Harris says he has a clear vision of who will start the upcoming season as his Millwall number one.

The Lions have signed two goalkeepers over the summer, with the South Londoners shelling out cash to buy Lukas Jensen, 25, from Lincoln City.

Experienced keeper Liam Roberts, who has more than 250 senior appearances to his name, was also snapped up as a free agent following his departure from Middelsbrough.

The 29-year-old had been on trial with Millwall before signing.

“I’ve got a clear vision – but I’m not going to share it with you,” the Lions boss said.

“What I will say is Lukas has come in as a slightly younger goalkeeper, has played quite a lot of football for his age as a number one.

“We have Liam who has played a lot of football – not loads in the Championship – but he comes with huge experience.

“We’ve got two goalkeepers that have different attributes and an opportunity for [goalkeeping coach] Andy Marshall to develop both of them, younger and more senior.

“What we’re hoping is that we can put a unit together that will support each other and fight for that jersey.”
