Fisher 0 Erith Town 0 – Dockers can’t find breakthrough at St Paul’s Stadium

Erith Town drew a blank as they travelled to St Paul’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

In the shadow of Canary Wharf, the Dockers had the better of the first half and almost took the lead when Danny Phillips ran on to the ball and rounded Fishwr keeper Graham Loki, but as the angle narrowed he saw his shot cleared off the line.

Phillips then saw another effort deflected over the bar before the Dockers missed a glorious opportunity on the stroke of half-time.

Myles Keizer-Burrows’ long throw in caused panic in the home defence and the ball fell to Michael Power who could only lift his shot over the bar with the goal at his mercy.

Fisher came out fired up in the second half and should have taken the lead when Luke With somehow failed to connect with the ball from close range.

Erith finished the game stronger, however, and went close to winning in the final minute as Tony Robinson, making his debut as a substitute saw his header go just wide.

The Dockers are home to Canterbury City this Saturday at Erith Stadium kick off 3pm.
