Former Celtic midfielder to be missing from Millwall action

Summer signing Dan Kelly is not set to be available for any of Millwall’s fixtures until the start of 2025.

The former Celtic midfielder has made three appearances since signing for the Lions in the summer transfer window.

Kelly’s only start was in the EFL Cup loss to Leyton Orient and he has not made the matchday squad for the past three Championship fixtures.

Millwall initially agreed a pre-contract deal for Kelly, who had been due to be out of contract at Celtic in January. But the Lions then negotiated an earlier release for the 19-year-old.

“Dan Kelly is a bit of an unfortunate one in the U21s game on Monday,” said Lions head coach Neil Harris. “He rolled his ankle and is going to be out of action probably until the new year. We’re probably looking at the six-week mark as well.”
