Former Charlton striker Mason Burstow makes first senior appearance for Chelsea

Former Charlton Athletic striker Mason Burstow made his Premier League debut at the weekend – coming on as a substitute in Sunday’s defeat for Chelsea at West Ham United.

The 20-year-old, raised in Woolwich and Plumstead, made the move from SE7 to the west London club in January 2022.

The South London Press understands that Burstow’s first top-flight appearance for Chelsea did not trigger any add-on clauses in the deal which took him to Stamford Bridge.

He signed for Charlton in October 2020.

“Over the moon to make my Premier League debut,” tweeted Burstow. “Thanks to all my family, friends, coaches and team-mates along the journey which led to this moment. Something I’ll never forget.”

Burstow replaced Malo Gusto in the 83rd minute at London Stadium.

It was his first senior appearance for the Blues.
