Former Charlton youngster linked with new Premier League transfer

Brentford are reportedly one of a number of Premier League clubs who are interested in signing Luton Town wing-back Alfie Doughty following their relegation to the Championship.

The 24-year-old impressed for the Hatters in his debut Premier League campaign last season.

Doughty came through the ranks at Charlton Athletic and made 41 appearances before moving to Stoke in January 2021.

He only made 16 appearances for the Potters before signing for Nathan Jones’ Luton side in June 2022.

Doughty helped Luton win promotion via the Championship play-offs in the 2022-23 season following a penalty shootout win over Coventry at Wembley.

The attacking left-sided full-back scored twice and registered eight assists in 37 Premier League outings.

Luton finished 18th in the Premier League and now look set to lose Doughty after an impressive campaign.
