Former Crystal Palace & AFC Wimbledon forward joins National League side
Former Crystal Palace and AFC Wimbledon forward Kwesi Appiah has joined National League side Boreham Wood.
The 32-year-old joins Luke Garrard’s side after ripping up his deal with League Two outfit Crawley Town.
Appiah initially joined Palace in 2012 from non-league side Margate Town.
He made 10 appearances during his time at Selhurst Park, having loan spells at Aldershot, Yeovil, Cambridge and Notts County before leaving to join Wimbledon permanently in 2017.
The striker featured 79 times for Wimbledon across two spells, scoring 17 goals and picking up seven assists.
He has played for NorthEast United in India and had a loan spell at Colchester since leaving the Dons.
Manager Luke Garrard said: “I’m really happy to have signed Kwesi. He is someone that I have admired for some time, he will bolster what we have in the forward areas and bring a much-needed experience to the group.
“His goalscoring record has been very good in recent years and we hope he can bring an additional goal threat to our attacking unit. Having met him and had some very detailed talks, he will definitely have an important role in leading the group. I look forward to working with him.”
