Former Crystal Palace winger training with Premier League rivals after Everton release
Former Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend is training with promoted Premier League side Burnley after he was released by Everton at the end of last season.
Vincent Kompany’s side won the Championship title last season with 101 points.
Townsend signed a two-year contract with the Toffees in the summer of 2021 after he left Selhurst Park.
However, he missed the entirety of last season because of an anterior cruciate ligament injury he picked up against Palace in Everton’s 4-0 FA Cup quarter-final defeat in March 2022.
Townsend joined Palace from Newcastle in 2016, scoring 16 goals and registering 28 assists in 185 matches during his time with the club.
He has also had spells at Millwall, Birmingham and QPR during his career.
