Former Millwall assistant set for new managerial role

Former Millwall assistant manager Callum Davidson is reportedly set to be named the new boss of Scottish Premiership side Dundee.

The Scottish Sun are reporting that the Dundee hierarchy are hoping to name Davidson are Gary Bowyer’s replacement within the next 24 hours.

Ex-Blackpool boss Bowyer guided Dundee to the Scottish Championship title this season, finishing five points clear of second-placed Ayr United.

Bowyer was sacked by Dundee just an hour after he was announced as the Championship Manager of the Season.

Davidson was sacked by St Johnstone, who he guided the club to Scottish Cup and League Cup glory in his first season in charge, in April.

The now 46-year-old was brought to The Den by Gary Rowett but left in June 2020 to take the managerial role at McDiarmid Park.
