Former Millwall striker named in League Two Team of the Season

Ex-Millwall forward Matt Smith has been named in the League Two Team of the Season for his performances for Salford this campaign.

The 34-year-old has scored 23 times and picked up four assists in the fourth tier this season, with Karl Robinson’s side currently 20th in the table.

They are seven points away from the drop zone, with three games left to play.

Smith turned out for Millwall 102 times in all competitions before leaving in January 2022.

He has also had spells at Leeds, Fulham, Oldham and QPR.

Smith has scored 43 goals and recorded seven assists during his 117-game spell for Salford.
