Former Millwall striker Steve Morison hot favourite to land Cardiff City boss job

Steve Morison is reportedly set to be handed the Cardiff City job until the end of the season.
The former Millwall striker joined Cardiff City as their U23 manager in 2020 before taking charge of the Bluebirds following the sacking of Mick McCarthy last month.
If the 38-year-old is appointed it will mean that he will be the third consecutive Cardiff manager to have an affiliation with Millwall, following in the footsteps of McCarthy and Lions legend Neil Harris.
BBC are reporting that an announcement from Cardiff is expected on Friday or Saturday, with the club’s owner Vincent Tan believed to have been impressed by Morison.
The former Wales international made 335 appearances and scored 92 goals for Millwall over three spells for the South London club, including the winner against Bradford City in the League One play-off final in 2017.
Cardiff City striker Kieffer Moore said earlier in the week he would back Morison to get the job: “I’d be 100 per cent for it. He has brought a real system to our game and you can only see it by watching just how much we’ve improved in such little time.
“You can time runs better. You’ve got time on the ball. You can’t as we were doing just turn possession over. We really impose ourselves on teams now and [we’re] making our own luck.
“It’s been a much improved system and it’s been for the better.”
