Former Millwall transfer target earns praise for contribution in Swansea City’s victory at Den

Steve Cooper was pleased with Swansea’s performance and had plenty of praise for Jamal Lowe, who has previously been a transfer target for Millwall.
Andre Ayew struck right on the stroke of half time before Lowe’s second-half brace sealed all three points for the Swans as they ran out 3-0 victors at The Den on Saturday.
The result leaves Millwall ninth and ended their three-match winning run.
Cooper told Sky Sports: “[I’m] really pleased. Brilliant win, the performance was equally as good as well. It took a lot of courage to play like that.
“We’ve had a couple of disappointing results. It’s never easy losing games on the bounce. We didn’t play well in the last two games, but I don’t think we deserved to lose them, but we did.
“To come away from home, to a place like Millwall, who have won three on the bounce, to play in that style, and score those goals and to keep a clean sheet and see all those individual performances is really pleasing and it’s important we build on that.”
Lowe took his goal haul to 12 for the campaign and ended a barren 17-match run without scoring.
“There’s a lot of questions, I have to answer about Jamal and the amount of goals [he has scored],” said Cooper. “We trust him 100 per cent and he has been a really good player for us this season. He is a really good lad as well. To see him get a couple of goals as well, is brilliant for him.
“Jamal’s biggest strength is his character, he always shows for the ball, he takes risks and that’s the sign of a good player.”
