Francesca Cabrini Primary win London section of schools’ seven-a-side competition

Francesca Cabrini Primary have become London Small Schools seven-a-side champions, writes Stephen Underwood.

For many years they had very successful teams. with coach Michel Brady taking them to success in local, county and national competitions but they no longer have the pupil numbers to compete at the top level.

Francesca Cabrini Primary have a falling student role and now are a small school.

English Schools FA have recognised small schools need their own national competition.

Inner London Schools FA held their round last Saturday at Douglas Eyre Sports Ground and Francesca Cabrini were South London’s entry.

They started by defeating St Scholastica Hackney 1-0 and then drew 2-2 against St Luke’s Islington.

Francesca Cabrini defeated All Saints Lewisham 3-1.

They now go through to the South-East regional finals.
