Fulham boss makes result admission after goalless Crystal Palace draw
Fulham boss Marco Silva believed his side deserved all three points in their goalless draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.
The west Londoners had 10 shots – five of which were on target – during the 90 minutes, but they were unable to find a way past Sam Johnstone.
Johnstone kept Willian out late on when he met Harrison Reed’s cross towards the back post. However, the Brazilian could not steer a shot past the Palace keeper.
The Eagles only registered three shots on target.
“We deserved the three points overall,” said the former Everton and Hull boss.
“We created the most chances to win.
“[We had] the clearest chances, especially Raul [Jimenez] in the first half. Andreas [Pereira], too, when Raul squared the ball. From Willian as well. We created enough.
“We showed quality, pushed them back and controlled the game. [There was] good focus and reaction when we lost the ball, and to control players like Mateta and Edouard when they changed to 4-4-2. Eze is always a threat, a top, top player.
“If someone has to win the game, it should be Fulham because we were the best team on the pitch.”
