Fulham boss Parker confirms QPR switch for Johansen – but coy on Kebano’s future

Fulham manager Scott Parker has refused to be drawn on Neeskens Kebano ‘s future – but confirmed  Stefan Johansen has joined QPR on loan.

Winger Kebano has been linked with a move before Monday’s transfer deadline.

“In terms of the balance of the squad, I’m not going to be brought into who exactly will go out,” said the Whites boss. “It’s clear the squad is quite big in terms of numbers. There’s certainly an option for players to go out and get some football. We’ll decide that in the coming days.”

Former Celtic midfielder Johansen did not make Fulham’s 25-man squad for the first half of the Premier League season.

“Stef will go there to play some games and get some football,” said Parker.

Parker has spoken openly in recent weeks about his desire to add another striker to his group. But with time ticking away to get business done, it would appear Fulham are no closer to plugging the gap in their forward line.

“I think it’s going to be difficult,” explained Parker.

“Like I’ve said, we understand where we need to improve. We’ve just come up from the Championship and the void between the established teams in this competition is huge.

“You need to evolve and bring players in, but at the same time, the balance of expenditure and a realism of where you are. I think at this moment in time, it looks like it’s going to be a challenge for us in terms of bringing players in.

“If that’s the case, we all understand the situation and where we are. We have a group here who have improved drastically over the last few months and if we can continue to do that, then we give ourselves a chance.”
