Fulham boss Scott Parker focused on Crystal Palace – not a Premier League points safety total

Scott Parker’s sole focus is on Fulham’s derby at Crystal Palace tomorrow – and not setting a points target for safety.

The Whites have taken nine points from their last six Premier League matches to boost their chances of climbing out of the bottom three.

But Parker insists that he is not looking at a total which is required to guarantee top-flight football again next season.

Fulham were widely written off after a traumatic start to the campaign but have looked far more defensively solid for a number of months.

Parker said: “There is no total [he has set for safety]. It’s just games. I do maintain that every day I sit down with you guys [the press] before a match I believe we can win that game. And that’s where it is.

“There is no ‘we need to win this game, this game, this game’ or we need to get to this amount of points. It’s solely Crystal Palace – this is where they are strong, how do we win this game? Liverpool away, Tottenham at home – it’s going to be the same.

“Going to win 13 [games] is probably going to be very unlikely. But every game I feel we go into it competitive and can get a result.”
