Fulham boss wants two more transfer additions before Tuesday’s deadline

Fulham boss Marco Silva has confirmed that he would like to add two new signings to his squad before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

The west Londoners have been linked to moves for Arsenal defender Cedric Soares and Torino midfielder Sasa Lukic.

Silva’s side, in their first season back in the top flight, are seventh in the Premier League table.

Lukic, 26, has recorded 167 appearances and scored 14 goals during his time at Torino.

Soares has recorded 158 appearances in the Premier League during his time at Arsenal and Southampton. He will provide cover and competition to Dutchman Kenny Tete.

The Whites have already filled their Premier League loan quota with Shane Duffy on a season-long deal from Brighton and Dan James on the same deal from Leeds.

Fulham would either have to terminate one deal or sign one of the loanees on a permanent deal to register the 31-year-old.

It was reported on Friday morning that West Brom are close to completing a deal for midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah.

“[I am hoping we will sign] two players – probably two players,” Silva said.

“If you ask me if I think we are close to finishing something, we should be because, in a few more days, the market is going to close.

“We should be closer – we hope we can do something before the end of the market.

“Probably some players they can go and probably two players they should come and they should sign deals before the end of the market, but we will see and we can hope.”
