Fulham could make Liverpool loanee a £12m signing in summer transfer window

Liverpool defender Neco Williams is reportedly keen to join Fulham on a permanent deal in the summer.

The 20-year-old signed for the Whites on deadline day in the winter transfer window and has slotted straight into the vacant right-back position after the departure of Denis Odoi to Club Brugge.

Williams scored a thunderbolt earlier this month in Fulham’s 5-1 thrashing of Swansea in Wales. His incredible strike flew over goalkeeper Andy Fisher before he added another one late on.

Football Insider are reporting that the Reds value the Wales international at around £12million and Fulham would be interested in a deal if they seal promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Since making the temporary move to Craven Cottage, Williams has also turned provider on two occasions with an assist against both Hull and Huddersfield in February.

The Liverpool academy has made an average of 2.1 tackles per game in his time with Fulham in the Championship, which is higher than in any other competition he has played in.

Williams has once again been called up to represent Wales for their upcoming World Cup play-off match against Austria on Thursday, March 24.

The Wrexham-born defender has scored two goals in 17 appearances for the Dragons since making his debut for them on September 3, 2020 in their 1-0 Nations League win over Finland.
