Fulham linked with loan move for Leeds United midfielder
Fulham are being linked with a loan move for Brenden Aaronson – with the Leeds United midfielder able to make a temporary exit.
The Daily Mail reported that the USA international has a clause which has kicked in after the Yorkshire club lost their Premier League status.
And that means Aaronson, 22, can make a swift return to the English top flight a reality.
The same publication adds that Fulham have made an initial approach for the player, who cost £24.7million from Red Bull Salzburg last May.
The west Londoners already have Americans in their ranks in Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson, although the latter has been linked with both Manchester City and Newcastle United.
Aaronson scored one goals and picked up three assists last season. But Fulham head coach Marco Silva has shown time and again that he can squeeze more out of players, with nearly all of the Whites’ squad improving on his watch.
Aaronson recently gave his verdict on Leeds’ campaign.
“The season wasn’t good enough,” he said on Instagram. “We all strived for more and wish we did better. Despite these disappointments, I’m extremely grateful Leeds brought me to be part of such a great club with great team-mates and an amazing fanbase.
“I want to thank everyone involved with this year, including all the fans who came out to every game, start to finish, and supported us all the way. We appreciate it more than you know.”
