Fulham loanee Harrison Reed on his Southampton future – and the challenge of Brentford in Championship play-off final

Fulham loanee Harrison Reed wants to be playing Premier League football next season – and is set to find out his situation at Southampton shortly.

The 25-year-old holding midfielder has been a leading performer for the Whites since the Championship season resumed following lockdown.

Reed has previously had loans with Norwich City and Blackburn Rovers.

Fulham face Brentford tomorrow in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.

Asked where he saw his future lying, Reed said: “Good question. In the Premier League, ideally.

“It’s not a question I can give a straight answer to. My sole focus is on getting Fulham to the Premier League. That will be an amazing achievement for the club and me as a player.

“It’s going to be the most important game of my career. I’ve never played there [at Wembley].”

Asked if Fulham were underdogs going into the contest, Reed replied: “You can call us underdogs, call us the favourites or call them the favourites. It doesn’t matter what happened before – it’s who performs the best.”
