Fulham midfielder doubt for Aston Villa after suffering injury on international duty
Fulham are set to be without midfielder Sasa Lukic after he picked up a shoulder injury while on international duty with Serbia, writes Richard Cawley.
The 28-year-old was forced off with the issue in his country’s 2-0 win over Switzerland in the Nations League on Saturday.
Lukic has started all of Fulham’s seven Premier League matches and has taken on the defensive midfield responsibilities since the sale of Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich.
The 3-2 loss at Manchester City before the international break was the former Torino player’s 50th appearance for the Whites.
Lukic’s role is likely to be filled by summer signing Sander Berge, who has made one league start since arriving from Burnley.
Fulham resume their Premier League campaign at home to Aston Villa tomorrow.
Marco Silva’s side are eighth in the table and have taken seven points from a possible nine at Craven Cottage this season.
