Greenwich Borough boss Barnes – We are playing for third spot in Bostik League South Division
By Richard Cawley
Greenwich Borough manager Paul Barnes has written off his side’s hopes of an automatic promotion slot in the Bostik League South Division after Saturday’s 2-1 home reverse to Hythe Town.
The South London club are at home to Thamesmead Town tonight and lie fourth in the standings.
Barnes – when asked about the chances of a top-two finish – said: “Honestly I think it is out of sight now, I believe Lewes and Carshalton have secured those places as they are too far ahead and won’t drop a sizeable amount of points. I believe we are playing for third now.”
