Greenwich Schools win Kent Primary Cup for first time in nearly 40 years

Greenwich Schools have won the Kent Primary Cup for the first time since 1973.

They beat Orpington & Bromley 3-2 in their final on Wednesday night at Maidstone United’s ground.

Jayden Oba levelled in the 10th minute for Greenwich to cancel out Hezekiah Grimwade’s opener.

Noah Okoror and Oba then put them 3-1 ahead in the 38th minute. Grimwade reduced the deficit just before the interval.

Greenwich’s side is comprised of boys who play for professional clubs such as Arsenal, Tottenham, Millwall, Charlton, Crystal Palace and Chelsea. Their squad was Leo Munoz, Sopuruchi Njoku, Lucas Pottle, Kit Fleming, Mishel Nduka, Alby Achampong, Max Cella, George De Bell, Jayden Oba, Noah Okoror, Freddie Ambrose, George Jones and Glenn Macaj.

Greenwich are due to play Lewisham in the London Kay Trophy.
