Hercules Wimbledon AC round-up: Revill smashes his PB for the mile – with plenty of other athletes clocking their best-ever times

Hector Revill continued his impressive series of autumn performances when he won his one mile race at an open track meeting at Tooting Bec on Saturday.

The teenager was one of four Hercules Wimbledon race winners as he took his one mile race in 4:47.11 to smash his PB for the distance.

The only previous time Revill had run over the iconic distance was in 2018 when he clocked 4:58 in the Vitalilty Westminster Mile in Central London. He was the best of nine Hercules Wimbledon runners in the mile races staged in memory of the legendary Herne Hill coach Stan Allen.

Teenagers Charlotte Gurney and Grace Eminson also clocked PBs.Veteran Gina Galbraith, in her first track race since August 2019, was third in her race in 5:26.61.

Another teenager, Lulu Weisz, having her fourth race since the resumption of competitive athletics, won her 800m race in 2:21.04, but she was slightly slower than her PB of 2:18.48 set at the same track at the start of September.

Georgie Clarke, also having her fourth race since the resumption of competition at the end of August, was the fastest of the 11 Hercules Wimbledon girls in the 800m – finishing sixth in her race in 2:19.74. It was the teenager’s first race over the distance since clocking a PB of 2:16.48 at an open meeting at Norman Park, Bromley in July 2019.

Matthew Wehrle and Sam Dyson took their respective 800m races in 2:41.83 and 2:39.00.

Eloise Davies, smashed her PB in clocking 11:01.72 to finish sixth in her 3,000m race. It bettered the 11:26.22 she clocked on her debut appearance over the distance in Swansea at the end of July 2019.

Thomas Wharton, 10, slashed almost 10 seconds off his PB set at Tooting Bec the previous weekend in finishing second in his 800m in 2:22.24.

Ava McCandie, Sophie Conway and Martha Eminson and William Moret, 10, all produced PBs in the 800 metres races.

Albane Fery posted a lifetime best of 10:46.27 in her 3,000 m race to improve on her 11:03.36 on her debut appearance over the distance at Tooting Bec at the beginning of September.
