Hull boss confirms Crystal Palace winger is set to join on loan

Crystal Palace winger Malcolm Ebiowei looks set to Hull City on loan for the rest of the 2022-23 season.

Hull boss Liam Rosenior, who worked with the Eagles youngster while he was Wayne Rooney’s assistant at Derby County last season, confirmed after their 4-1 win over Wigan on Monday that Ebiowei was set to join.

Speaking to BBC Radio Humberside, Rosenior said: “Malcolm has turned down a lot of clubs in the Championship to come here.”

The 19-year-old had been linked to several clubs in the Championship and League One, with Swansea, Ipswich and Blackburn all reported to have interested in taking Ebiowei for the second half of the season.

Ebiowei, tracked by Manchester United and Tottenham before he signed a five-year deal at Selhurst Park, has been named on the bench in every Premier League game this season under Vieira since arriving from Derby County in the summer. But he has only played 31 minutes of Premier League football.

Hull are 16th in the Championship, seven points clear of the relegation zone and six points off the play-off spots.
