‘I can’t feel my legs!’ – Conor Gallagher’s new Premier League record as Crystal Palace shutout Manchester City

Conor Gallagher praised Crystal Palace’s work ethic as they ground out a 0-0 draw with Manchester City at Selhurst Park tonight – and admitted afterwards that he could not feel his legs after the full-time whistle.

The Chelsea loanee ran 12.5 kilometres against the Premier League title chasers, the furthest distance he has ever covered in the top flight.

Palace have taken four points off City this season after winning 2-0 in the away fixture at the end of October and kept two clean sheets.

The whole team were brilliant, we worked so hard – we deserved that,” Gallagher told Sky Sports. “To be honest with you I can’t feel my legs and I’m struggling to talk! All the boys gave eveything and I’m proud of them.

“We even had chances to win the game but we’ll take a point. You could see our gameplan – to defensively be organised and try and catch them on the counter attack, which we did a few times but we weren’t able to score.

“It was a very good performance from us.

The boss wants me to press, he feels I’m good at that. I give my best every game. I’ll always work my hardest.

“Before the game we had belief we would win. We’ve played well recently and had a few good results. We were confident going into the game and you could see that. We’re happy with the point.

“They are one of the best teams in the world and to do that against them twice is amazing and shows what we can do as a team.”
