‘I’m devastated’ – Laura Kaminski confirms Chelsea defender set to miss significant period of Crystal Palace loan through injury

Crystal Palace Women’s manager Laura Kaminski has confirmed that Chelsea loanee Jorja Fox is set to miss a large part of the Women’s Super League (WSL) season after rupturing her ACL.
The 21-year-old defender signed a new deal with Chelsea until 2027 and moved to South London on loan in mid-August, where she joined up with the Palace squad for their pre-season preparation, which included a tour to Utah, USA.
The ACL injury is her second, after suffering one back in May 2023 while on loan at Brighton.
“I’m devastated for her. She worked so hard in terms of coming back from her first ACL,” said Kaminski.
“I know Jorja, and I know what talent, potential, and future she has. It’s devastating for her to be back in the position again for the ACL, and my thoughts are really with her.
“I’ve obviously been in contact with her and wished her well. My fingers are crossed that she can keep that mentality in the long process of rehabbing again and keep her future bright because she’s a great player.
“This season would have been a huge part of our journey, but it wasn’t meant to be. I wish her all the best.”
