‘Incredible’ – Charlton Athletic boss Holden on supporters snapping up all tickets for Bristol Rovers match
Dean Holden has given his reaction to Charlton Athletic selling out their allocation for their League One match at Bristol Rovers on Good Friday.
The Addicks announced that all of their 1,167 tickets had been snapped up.
Charlton are on a five-game unbeaten streak and thrashed Shrewsbury Town 6-0 last weekend.
And the club’s supporters are still travelling in big numbers despite the Addicks being out of the promotion equation.
Holden told the South London Press: “It’s incredible, isn’t it? Again it just shows you the commitment – that the fans are onboard with us at the moment. It is a real boost. Arriving in Bristol on Good Friday with that backing is brilliant.
“There won’t be many clubs in this division getting that amount of support. Thank you again to the fans for that.
“I got that message (about the ticket sales) just prior to the team meeting this morning, so I relayed that to the players immediately. We’ve just got to make sure we continue the run, that’s why the fans are onboard because they are liking what they are seeing on the pitch at the moment.
“It all adds to the buzz that is around at the minute.”
