Injury update on Charlton midfielder as he could make return to squad at Wycombe

Ben Garner has not ruled Conor McGrandles out of being back in his Charlton squad for tomorrow’s League One fixture at Wycombe Wanderers.

The former Lincoln City midfielder fractured his hand in the recent 5-1 victory over Plymouth Argyle.

But McGrandles should be able to play during the healing process by wearing a protective cast.

The likes of Mandela Egbo, Steven Sessegnon and Chuks Aneke have all been missing with injuries and appear unlikely to feature against the Chairboys.

Asked about McGrandles, Addicks boss Garner told the South London Press: “He had his cast fitted yesterday afternoon, so he’ll try that for the first time today and we’ll go from there.

“It’s just a case of Conor being comfortable and us being confident in the knowledge that will provide enough protection.

“He’s trained this week but hasn’t been able to do contact, in terms of having that protection. It will be a case of seeing how it goes today, seeing how confident he is in it and then as soon as we can get him back into the squad we will do.”
