Interest from League Two and abroad for released Crystal Palace forward

League Two sides have expressed an interest in signing David Omilabu after the forward was released by Crystal Palace.

The South London Press understands sides in the National League and abroad are also keeping tabs on the 20-year-old.

Omilabu signed his first professional deal with the Eagles in March 2021, helping Palace secure promotion to the Premier League 2 Divison 1 later that year after he scored an extra-time winner in the play-off semi-final against Wolves.

He suffered an injury-hit 2021-22 campaign. However, the versatile frontman, who can play anywhere across the front three, featured more than 30 times last season for the South Londoners’ U21 side as he picked up eight goals and seven assists in all competitions.

After announcing his departure from Selhurst Park, Omilabu said on Instagram: “12 years @cpfc has come to an end. I would like to thank all the staff and players for helping me and guiding me into the player I am today. I’d also like to thank the fans for all the love and support I’ve received over the years.

“Unfortunately, I couldn’t leave on a high note by winning the cup with the boys yesterday, but sometimes some things aren’t just meant to be. I wish everyone a the club all the best for the future!”
