Ipswich boss confirms midfielder’s absence as he looks ahead to ‘tough’ Millwall clash

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna has confirmed that midfielder Jack Taylor will miss tomorrow’s Championship clash at Millwall.

The 25-year-old has missed the last two outings for the Tractor Boys with a quad injury.

Taylor has featured 23 times in the Championship this season.

Ipswich head to The Den with just one win in their last five Championship outings and find themselves four points away from the automatic spots.

“He’s progressing well,” McKenna told IpswichTV of Taylor.

“This one’s going to come round too soon, but he’s getting some important work in in the gym as well and hopefully won’t be too much longer.”

Millwall are winless in their last five outings under Joe Edwards and suffered a 2-1 defeat at Coventry on Sunday.

The Lions are four points clear of the bottom three.

He added: “They’re going to be fighting for the points.

“So are we. They haven’t been winning much lately but they’re in every game, they’re a tough opponent and they gave Coventry a really tough game at their place on Sunday.

“We know we’re in for a really tough game. We played them not so long ago.

“That always provides a challenge as well because the other team have had a good look at you.

“We know we’re going to have to be right at it – there is no getting away from it.

“A midweek game at Millwall is a big challenge for us but one we look forward to.

“We’ll try and attack it the best way we can.”
