Ipswich loanee Panutche Camara makes big impression on Charlton friendly debut – with Karoy Anderson underlining his talent

Panutche Camara came into sharp focus as Charlton Athletic won 5-0 at Wealdstone today.

The loan signing from Ipswich Town got his first minutes for the South London club – along with centre-back Lloyd Jones – and produced a very encouraging showing.

It was centre-back Jones who opened the scoring for the Addicks, producing a neat finish when a scramble inside the hosts’ penalty area dropped kindly for him in the 19th minute.

Almost instantly the League One club made it 2-0. This time Jones’ ball over the top was raced on to by Camara, who lobbed the advancing Wealdstone goalkeeper.

Scott Fraser added a third in the 27th minute, after being slipped in on the left of the box by Charlie Kirk with Camara once again involved in the build up, before Diallang Jaiyesmi hit the left upright.

Camara and Jones both made way at the interval but will look to boost their minutes at Millwall on Tuesday night.

There were a further 10 changes in the 68th minute with the players who started at Gillingham last midweek entering the field of play.

Tyreece Campbell was fouled in the box and Alfie May converted at the second attempt from the spot. The summer signing from Cheltenham had failed to convert against the Gills but this time the ball came back off the keeper for him to tuck the ball away.

Academy prospect Karoy Anderson bagged the fifth in the 88th minute. He produced a lovely turn in the box after being fed by Jack Payne, before producing a low finish.
