‘It challenges you’ – Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner relishing Man City clash

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is relishing tomorrow’s Premier League clash against Manchester City.

The Austrian will be taking on a side in the top four of the Premier League table for the first time since taking over from Roy Hodgson.

Palace are winless in their last four outings since Glasner recorded a debut win over Burnley at Selhurst Park.

Pep Guardiola’s side head to Selhurst Park looking to move level with Liverpool on points, 70, at the top of the table.

They take on Real Madrid in the semi final of the Champions League on Tuesday.

“I like these games – it challenges you,” said Glasner, who has picked up five points in his first five Premier League games in charge of the South Londoners.

“We have to think about it. We were sitting together on Wednesday with our analysts and they showed us many clips. We were discussing and talking about what we can do and what fits our players.

“We can’t say we want to play like Liverpool or like Arsenal – we want to play like Crystal Palace.

“It was a long meeting here and discussion. We think this can work, but we have to prove it tomorrow.

“You prepare and you think: ‘We have the right game plan,’ but they also prepare and they have the best manager in the world and they are prepared for every situation.

“It’s not too easy to find weaknesses, but we think we have found one or two situations that have happened more often and could fit us.

“This is what we want to use, but we have to prove it tomorrow.”
