‘It’s bad’ – Crystal Palace boss explains Jesurun Rak-Sakyi’s absence from Burnley win

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson explained that Jesurun Rak-Sakyi missed Saturday’s Premier League win at Burnley due to injury.

The 21-year-old former Charlton loanee has made six appearances in the league this season and has been involved in every matchday squad this season.

We reported before the match that Rak-Sakyi – who won the club’s October Player of the Month – suffered a hamstring strain during training on Thursday.

Nathan Ferguson, Odsonne Edouard, Michael Olise, Jefferson Lerma and Eberechi Eze have all picked up hamstring injuries during the season.

The Eagles won 2-0 away at Burnley thanks to goals from Jeffrey Schlupp and Tyrick Mitchell.

“It’s bad,” confirmed Hodgson.

“We don’t know 100 per cent. We’re not talking a week or two, we’re probably talking longer than that. It’s a real blow.

“Just as you get Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise back almost into the fold, you lose another player who we think is very important for us in our attacking play.

“We regained two and lost one. I would have preferred to have all three.”
