Jayden Stockley hit with three-game ban – Charlton striker to miss Stockport, Cheltenham and Morecambe matches
Charlton striker Jayden Stockley has been hit with a three-match suspension by the FA for violent conduct in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Port Vale.
The Addicks frontman will not be back available until the December 17 home game against Bristol Rovers.
Stockley will sit out Saturday’s FA Cup second round match against Stockport at The Valley as well as the home game against Cheltenham on December 2 and the trip to Morecambe on December 10.
It further limits Charlton manager Ben Garner’s forward options with Miles Leaburn (ankle) still working his way back to full fitness. Chuks Aneke is the only senior striker available but his minutes have to be carefully managed – especially so after missing the opening months of the campaign due to a groin problem.
“Charlton Athletic FC’s Jayden Stockley has been suspended for three games after breaching FA rule E1.1 during their EFL League One match against Port Vale FC on Saturday 19 November 2022,” said an FA statement.
“The forward’s behaviour during the 22nd minute of the game was not seen by the match officials but an incident was captured on video. In response to a charge, he admitted that his actions constituted violent conduct and accepted the standard penalty.”
