Jed Wallace ruled out of Millwall’s home game against Hull due to groin injury
Jed Wallace misses Millwall’s home game against Hull City today after being ruled out with a groin injury.
The winger felt a niggle towards the end of Friday’s 1-1 draw at Preston North End and then could not complete a training session ahead of this afternoon’s clash.
Wallace is out of contract at the end of June and it throws up the prospect that the 28-year-old has played his last match for the Lions.
Millwall only have three fixtures remaining in the regulation season after today. They head to Birmingham City this weekend before facing Peterborough at The Den on April 30 with their finale at AFC Bournemouth on May 7.
Nottingham Forest made two bids in the January transfer window for the all-action attacker which were rejected by Millwall.
Cardiff City, managed by former Lions striker Steve Morison, have been linked with a move for Wallace this summer.
Wallace missed five Championship matches earlier in the campaign due to a quad problem. He returned as a second-half substitute in the home fixture against Preston and has started the last 13 matches, completing all but two of those.
In total the former Portsmouth and Wolves winger has made 258 appearances for the Lions and scored 42 goals.
He told our paper in March: “If I’ve got five minutes or five years on my contract, judge me on what you see on the pitch.
“The day that I stop running or pull out of a tackle, then boo me. I’m sure my dad would be the first one to beat me up in the players’ lounge if he saw me do that. That’s never going to happen.
“I care too much about football, especially a club that I have played so many games for.”
