Just the words that Charlton Athletic fans want to hear….Nathan Jones reports a clean bill of health for Stevenage match
Nathan Jones has reported a completely clean bill of health for Charlton’s home game against Stevenage on Saturday.
The Addicks head into the League One match at The Valley on a four-game unbeaten run, winning three of those.
Summer signing Gassan Ahadme had been sidelined with a foot injury but Jones confirmed in his pre-match press conference this afternoon that he has no players unavailable.
There could also be debuts for two loan signings made at the end of the window – Middlesbrough attacker Alex Gilbert and Portsmouth centre-back Tom McIntyre.
“Yeah they are both in contention for the weekend,” said Addicks manager Jones. “Look, they have not played loads of 90 minutes. If they were then they wouldn’t be coming out.
“There are not many people, unless you buy someone, who will be playing 90 minutes regularly.
“Alex adds real quality in the final third. He provides real competition for us. Tom has experience even though he is a relatively young man. He adds balance and technical quality as well as experience.
“We feel we have done good business with the people we have brought in.”
