Karen Hills pens new Charlton Athletic contract

Charlton Athletic Women’s boss Karen Hills has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

Hills has achieved fifth and fourth-placed finishes with the South Londoners during her stint at The Oakwood.

The former Tottenham boss won the FA Cup with the Addicks as a player in 2005.

Charlton kick off their 2023-24 Championship campaign this Sunday against Sheffield United.

She told the club website: “I am delighted to continue my stay here at Charlton, obviously being a player here and now a head coach the club is very special to me and I am very proud of what we as a team have built over the last few seasons.

“I am happy with our recruitment this summer and I think we are heading into this new campaign with a strong group, every single player has worked hard over the summer and now we are all raring to go to take on Sheffield United.”

Women’s general manager Louise McGing also expressed her delight by saying: “Karen’s track record is impressive, and both the club and our supporters are delighted that she has extended her contract.

“Karen has a clear vision going into the season. She has maintained a solid spine of experience within the squad, whilst also recruiting the right players to take the team to the next level.”
