League One play-off dates revealed – with Charlton Athletic firmly in the mix to be in them

The EFL have released the dates for their play-off matches – with Charlton Athletic still firmly in the hunt in League One.

The Addicks won 2-1 at Sunderland on Saturday to move within a point of the top six.

And they will look to boost their prospects of extending their season when they host Ipswich Town this weekend.

The EFL have confirmed that the League One play-off final will take place on May 30.

And the first legs of the semi-finals will be at 6pm on May 18 and May 19. The return leg will be May 21 – a Friday night fixture (7.45pm) or May 22 (3pm).

Charlton manager Nigel Adkins said: “It [the win at Sunderland] has kept the season alive, big time for us. We are well and truly in the mix.

“They were breathing heavily in the dressing room and I said to them: ‘That’s the way you should be after every single game – we want to be able to run over the opposition’.

“We’ve got a week to prepare ourselves [for Ipswich].”
