League One side reportedly win race for free agent AFC Wimbledon midfielder

Port Vale have reportedly agreed a deal to sign free agent Ethan Chislett after his contract with AFC Wimbledon expired at the end of last season.

Football League World have reported that Chislett has agreed a deal with the Valiants.

South African playmaker Chislett, who won the Players’ Player of the Season last campaign, scored 11 goals and registered three assists in 51 appearances in all competitions for the Dons under Johnnie Jackson.

The 24-year-old joined the club from Aldershot in 2020 and has featured 123 times for the South Londoners.

Wimbledon offered Chislett fresh terms to stay at Plough Lane. However, the Dons had already moved on after signing James Tilley from Crawley.

Chislett was also linked to Portsmouth, Wycombe and Bolton earlier in the window.

Port Vale finished 18th last season in League One.
