Lee Bowyer calls for Arsenal-loanee to learn from his display during Charlton’s 1-0 defeat at Rochdale
Lee Bowyer hopes that Arsenal-loanee Krystian Bielik will learn from his performance during the 1-0 defeat at Rochdale.
The Polish international, who can operate as a defensive-midfielder or at centre-half, was able to sit at the base of the midfield diamond at Spotland as Darren Pratley continued to partner Jason Pearce in the defence.
However, the 20-year-old was hooked at half-time by Bowyer – who hopes he will be able to learn from the experience.
“Pratley I thought was outstanding on Tuesday and I thought he was again today,” explained the Charlton boss.
“Krystian is normally good sitting at the bottom of the diamond but today he kept taking too many touches and getting caught in possession. He’s got to learn that you have to move the ball quick – that’s the way we play.
“Obviously, it was disappointing first-half, not just from him, but from everyone first-half. Everyone was poor first-half. But I kept Pratley at the back because he’s done well and he did well again.”
