Leeds United loanee Charlie Cresswell suffered fractured eye socket in Millwall’s 0-0 draw at West Brom
Millwall centre-back Charlie Cresswell suffered a fractured eye socket in Saturday’s 0-0 draw at West Bromwich Albion.
The Leeds United loanee posted a picture after the match on his Instagram.
There are no indications yet about how the damage to his left eye will affect his availability for the Lions, who are back in action on Friday at home against Luton Town.
Cresswell was caught in an aerial duel at The Hawthorns in stoppage time and after a spell of treatment he was replaced by Scott Malone in the 99th minute.
The England U21 international has started the last 12 matches for Millwall and formed a rock solid centre-back pairing with Jake Cooper.
It is the second facial injury suffered by Cresswell since he made the loan switch to the South Londoners. He also required stitches and his eye ballooned up after being kicked in the face by Hull City’s Oscar Estupinan in November.
