Lewisham light-heavyweight Dan Azeez makes ring return on November 9
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Dan Azeez is back in action on November 9 – fresh off a career-best win on his biggest stage.
The 30-year-old from Lewisham produced an impressive display as he dismantled Charlie Duffield in the sixth round at Greenwich’s 02 Arena on July 20, on the undercard of Dillian Whyte’s heavyweight clash with Oscar Rivas.
Azeez won the Southern Area light-heavyweight title in the process.
And he will box on MTK’s show with the show also being broadcast in the United States on ESPN+.
The South Londoner has a 9-0 record, with six stoppages.
Azeez said: “I’m very pleased to be back. It’s always nice to box at the iconic York Hall and it’s easy for local support to get to. Fans can expect to be entertained in this fight.
“I was happy with the win in my last fight and there’s always things I can work on, but in saying that it was a result both me and my team expected. Charlie is a good tough fighter and all due respect to him but I believe I’m above that level and I showed it on the night.
“It’s great to be back on ESPN+ in America again too. The more people that know about you, the better for your profile.”
