Leyton Orient, Crawley and Colchester keen on transfer deal for Charlton Athletic midfielder
Three League Two clubs are interested in signing Charlton midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey.
The South London Press understands that Leyton Orient, Crawley Town and Colchester United want to add the playmaker before tonight’s transfer deadline.
Forster-Caskey, 28, signed a 12-month contract extension at the start of the summer but has dropped down the pecking order after the midfield additions of Jack Payne and Conor McGrandles. His only appearances have come in the cup competitions this season and he completed the full 90 minutes on Wednesday night as the South Londoners beat Gillingham 3-0 in the EFL Trophy.
There still remains the possibility that four players could head out the exit door before this evening’s 11pm cut-off for deals.
We already revealed that Dundee United and Dundee are keen on goalkeeper Craig MacGillivray while Stevenage are working on trying to secure midfielder Alex Gilbey.
Diallang Jaiyesimi has also attracted approaches and is struggling to command league minutes with the form of Jesurun Rak-Sakyi and Charlie Kirk – along with Corey Blackett-Taylor looking the first-choice option if either of the pair miss out.
